The Small Industries Development Organization is a Parastatal Organisation established by an act of Parliament No.28 in 1973 to plan, Co-ordinate, promote and Offer a variety of services to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As part of implementing its Organisational Structure it is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified, competent, committed and experienced Tanzanians to immediately fill the following vacancies.
Job Title: Business Development Officer Grade II- 1 post
Reporting to: Regional Manager
Required Qualifications
• University Degree in Business Management, Economics, Commerce, Accounting or Related Field.
• Awareness of issues concerning micro and small enterprises sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Business experience in micro and small business development activities in an added advantage.
• Training or teaching experience and knowledge of and experience in moderation and facilitation techniques are added advantages.
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Power point and publisher, etc.) is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
• The Officer is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the Business Development activities of the organisation within the regional.
• Identification of business opportunities and assessment of market potential.
• Promotion of the regional office business training and advisory services.
• Identify and select participants for micro and small enterprises training programmes.
• Provide clients with business opportunity guidance.
• Organise and conduct training programmes.
• Assist trainees in preparing their business plan.
• Provide business advice o-site and the Office.
• Monitor effectiveness of services and assess their impact.
• Assist in developing relationships with the local business community and with institutions which provide similar services.
• Perform any other activities as may be assigned by Supervisor.

Job Title: Credit Officer Grade II – 1 post
Required Qualifications
• University degree in business management, economics, finance/accounting.
• Awareness of issues concerning small enterprises sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skils.
• A business like attitude.
• Business experience in micro and small business development activities is an added advantage.
• Training or teaching experience and knowledge of and experience in moderation and facilitation techniques are an added advantage.
• Computer knowledge in Micro soft application packages (Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher, etc.) is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
• The officer is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the credit activities of the organisation within the Region.
• Promotion of Regional Credit Service.
• Conducting credit training sessions and programme for clients on the management of credit methodology.
• Receiving and assessing credit applications from prospective clients.
• Recommend, approval of loans, disbursement, maintain records, tracking of loans, loan follow up, monitoring and reporting on loan portfolio performance.
• Perform any other activities as may be assigned by supervisor.

Job Title: Accounts Assistant Technician Grade II – 1 post
Reporting to: Assistant Accountant
Required Qualifications
• Form IV/VI Certificate with ATEC I & II or Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy.
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher, etc.) is necessary.
• Applicants should be between 25-45 years old.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Keeps records of financial transactions up to date.
• Makes entries, calculations, totals and balances.
• Verifies accuracy of documents and records related to payment receipts and other financial transactions and makes necessary corrections.
• Receiving and paying of Morley (cashiering.)
• Ensuring proper filling and keeping of all accounts records.
• Custodian of cash and other valuable items.
• Ensuring that all money come into the organisation are being receipted.
• Collecting bank statement, bank balance. Credit note and debit note from the bankers.
• Ensuring that financial procedures and policy on receiving, payments and handling of monies are adhered to.
• Compiles periodic financial reports and statements.
• Perfume any other duties as may be assigned by superior.

Job Title: Personal Secretary Grade II – 1 post
Reporting to: Human Resource Officer
Required Qualifications
• Holder of Certificate of Secondary education (CSEE) with Diploma in Secretarial course from recognized institutions.
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft application packages (Excel, Word, Power Point, Publisher, etc.) is necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintains a diary of appointments for executive advises and reminds him of appointments.
• Takes dictation and transcribes.
• Type all kinds of correspondence, minutes, reports etc.
• Handle confidential files.
• Attends visitors with courtesy, ascertain their business and relays information to the officer.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by superior.

Job Title: Technician Grade II – 1 post
Reporting to: General Foreman
Required Qualification
• Holder of Ordinary Diploma or FTC in mechanical engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To operate machinery and equipment in workshop.
• To operate moulds and manufacture products.
• To carry out the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• To carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair works.
• To carry out civil works and manufacture wood products.
• To undertake drafting of engineering drawing.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Job Title: Artisan Grade II – 2 posts
Reporting to: General Foreman
Required Qualification
• Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education in Workshop.
• To operate moulds and manufacture products.
• To carry out the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• To carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair works.
• To carry out civil works and manufacture wood products.
• To undertake drafting of engineering drawing.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

How to Apply
N.B General Conditions and Mode of Application
i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old, however, applicants who are above 45 years old and are current employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.
ii. Applicants must attach an up-to-date current curriculum vitae (CV) having reliable contact, postal address, email and telephone numbers and at least three reputable referees (preferably work related for those who are employed.)
iii. Applicants must attach their detailed relevant certified copies of all academic certificates with two recent passport size picture and birth certificate. (Form IV and form VI results slips, testimonials, partial transcripts will strictly not be accepted.)
iv. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action.
v. Applicants for entry levels currently employed in the public service should not apply, they have to adhere to Government Circular Na. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
vi. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by the National examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
vii. Certificates from foreign universities should be verified by the Tanzania commission for universities (TCU). All applications should be addressed as shown below, to be received three weeks from the first appearance of their advertisement. Only short listed candidates will be contacted.
